Stress Causes

As almost every hemorrhoid sufferer knows, stress has a way of making them worse. But what many people may not realize is that stress may also be one of the main causes of external hemorrhoids. Finding your points of stress, learning how to handle stress without experiencing the severe physical reactions of it on your body, and developing a plan for how to deal with the stressful situations in life may actually help end the problem of external hemorrhoids, or even help you avoid the problem altogether.

Stress Points

When it comes to recognizing the things in life that may give you the most stress, you might need to take a good look at your history. If you have had any physical health problems that may cause physical stress that is also emotionally stressful. Having medical problems, needing surgery, and even feeling pain from injuries may all produce enough stress on your body for your body to react by not working properly. One of the things that can result from physical stress is bowel movement problems. Both constipation and diarrhea are causes of external hemorrhoids. When you have had physical problems or stressful situations, you need to be able to remain regular. This will help you avoid any hemorrhoid problems which may be looming.

Emotional stress may also be an external hemorrhoids cause, flaring up from the stress of emotional pain. Emotions and mental anguish may even cause your circulation not to be proper. This type of stress may interfere with your entire circulatory system, and cause your veins to become inflamed. It may also cause you to not eat properly, making proper bowel movements less likely and hemorrhoid problems more likely.

Handling Stress, Having a Plan

Dealing with the stresses that life may bring in a constructive way will do a lot for your overall health, including keeping hemorrhoids under control, or even avoiding them altogether. One plan to make is how you will control stress, and not let it control you. Here are a few suggestions on great ways to deal with any type of stress:

• Learn to recognize the warning signs. Everyone is different, so the warning signs may not be the same for you as they are for someone else. If you find yourself reaching for chocolate, rather than a piece of fruit- when you normally wouldn’t- that may be one warning sign for you. There may be physical warnings, such as high blood pressure. When you recognize the first sign of being over stressed, take control.

• Use prayer, meditation, or relaxation breathing to help lessen your stress level. People who use these techniques generally have less negative stress, and cope better with it physically.
Whatever your plan, remember that sticking with it is the way you will end having stress as an external hemorrhoids cause.
