Job Related Causes of External Hemorrhoids

If you have ever had hemorrhoids, then you know how difficult it can be to know what has caused them and how to end the pain and suffering. One thing that may be one of the causes of external hemorrhoids is your job.

Now before you assume that what is meant by that means you should quit your job, take a look at what is really meant. There are millions of people who suffer from hemorrhoids every day. Among those millions of people, there may be thousands of different kinds of jobs. What the main culprit may be in this arena isn’t working, it’s how you work. Having a job that is also possibly an external hemorrhoids cause, can be dealt with in a way that may also make your job more comfortable and healthier in other ways.

If you have a job where you need to sit down a lot, there are things you can do to make your position one that will not irritate your sore area. One of the best things to do when you have a sit down job is to shift every few minutes. This will keep pressure off of any one spot and offer you relief if you already have a hemorrhoid problem.

Another thing that should help a lot, both in eliminating the job as one of the causes of external hemorrhoids and preventing them from becoming worse, is to stand and walk every chance you get. Taking walk breaks every hour should help a lot in taking the pressure off and keeping your circulation moving. If possible, you may want to try using a pillow or cushion to sit on while at work. This may help you be more comfortable while healing from hemorrhoids, and prevent the hardness of your chair from creating more of a problem.

If you have a job that requires you to stand for long periods of time, shifting from one leg to the other for most of your weight bearing may help relieve the pressure put on your anus by constantly standing. Not standing still will help too. You may want to try being slightly fidgety, giving yourself more movement and relieving any pressure. You may also want to make sure that when you go on your breaks, you actually sit and put your feet up. This will help you to relax and take the pressure off your bottom and your legs.

No matter what your job, you may be able to pinpoint what about it is irritating and acting as an external hemorrhoids cause for you. Making some changes in how you do your job may offer you the opportunity to reduce and eliminate your hemorrhoid problem once and for all.
